Unfortunately the plastic filter housing tends to become brittle over time and can often crack during filter changes which should be performed every 40,000 miles. Constructed of billet aluminium, the USP cool flow housing is a much stronger option than the factory plastic housing. Not only is the cool flow housing stronger, but it also uses cooling fins to cool the DSG fluid as it passes through the filter and housing.
